Forbes Australia
Australian business and wealth media (business-friendly, mainstream center-right on economics)
Background
Forbes Australia launched on September 26, 2022. It came from a licensing deal between Forbes Media and Success Publishing, a company set up by Success Global Media, whose background is in business education, financial services and live events. Michael Lane is the CEO. Forbes has licensed editions in about 27 countries and regions. The Australian edition has its own editorial team and publishes local rich lists, entrepreneur profiles and a print magazine, and it also carries some global Forbes content. It added to its editorial team in May 2026 and has reported a monthly audience of more than 450,000 readers. Forbes' main Forbes.com platform has been criticized for its large contributor network and for sponsored content (brand voice), and some of that criticism applies to the brand generally. The Australian edition's perspective is business-friendly and aspirational, with a focus on wealth and success rather than on political advocacy. Because the license is run by a company with roots in wealth and business events, the coverage tends to be favorable toward business figures. I could not find independent analyses of its political coverage, so this assessment rests on its published content and its structure. Details on current Forbes Media ownership and Australian finances were limited in my search.
