Background

NaturalNews was founded by Mike Adams (born 1967, Lawrence, Kansas), who registered the domain in 2003–2005 and built the site from an earlier project called NewsTarget. Adams had previously run a Y2K apocalypse website in 1998 and a commercial mass-email company in the 1990s. The site grew into one of the internet's largest alternative health outlets, attracting millions of readers with content opposing vaccines, GMOs, fluoride, and mainstream medicine, while selling supplements and survival products. Over time, its editorial scope expanded well beyond health into full-spectrum right-wing conspiracy content, including election denial, climate change denial, and far-right political commentary, leading critics to compare it to Infowars. A 2020 investigation by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue documented a network of over 400 affiliated domains coordinated by Adams to amplify health and political disinformation. Major platforms systematically removed the site: Google blacklisted it in 2017, YouTube banned Adams in 2018, and Facebook banned the page in 2019 (when it had roughly 3 million followers) and made the ban permanent in 2020. Adams responded by building his own video platform, Brighteon, and continued operating through mirror sites. Media Bias/Fact Check rates NaturalNews as 'far right' with 'very low' factual reporting, and it has accumulated a long record of failed fact-checks from PolitiFact and others. In 2025, the site launched an AI chatbot called 'Enoch' and has continued publishing content broadly aligned with Trump-era political and health messaging, including praise for Robert F.
