Public Schools First NC

Public Schools First NC is a North Carolina nonprofit that produces fact sheets, legislative analysis, and blog content advocating for traditional public schools and opposing private school vouchers, expanded charter schools, and cuts to public education funding. It is independent of any political party but consistently aligns with progressive education priorities and critiques Republican-backed school-choice policies. Since January 2025, its content has been broadly critical of the Trump administration's education agenda, including federal funding freezes, the dismantling of the U.S. Department of Education, and the federal school voucher program.
