Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft

The Quincy Institute is a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit think tank founded in 2019 and funded by a cross-ideological mix of progressive and libertarian donors, including George Soros and Charles Koch. Its consistent editorial position is that the United States relies too heavily on military force and should pursue diplomacy and restraint instead. Its stance toward the Trump administration is mixed: it has endorsed some of Trump's stated restraint impulses (such as negotiating with adversaries and reducing overseas military commitments) while criticizing specific policies it views as bellicose or counterproductive.
