Carolina Journal is the news and opinion outlet of the John Locke Foundation, a conservative and free-market think tank in North Carolina that was co-founded by Art Pope and is largely funded by the Pope family foundation. Its opinion pages lean right and libertarian, favoring limited government, lower taxes and school choice. Its recent record leans toward the Trump administration and North Carolina Republicans, though I did not review a large sample of recent opinion pieces. Its news section, which includes neutral-toned poll coverage, is less partisan.
