Common Cause North Carolina
U.S. center-left
Common Cause North Carolina is the state chapter of Common Cause, a national nonprofit advocacy organization that campaigns on voting rights, anti-gerrymandering, campaign finance reform, and government accountability. Although the group describes itself as nonpartisan, it consistently advocates for positions that align with progressive and Democratic priorities — particularly expanded voting access and restrictions on Republican-drawn electoral maps. In 2025–2026, the organization has been broadly critical of the Trump administration, actively challenging North Carolina's redrawn congressional maps, opposing the firing of Election Assistance Commission members, and joining national protests framed as defenses of democratic norms.
