PBS North Carolina

PBS North Carolina is a statewide public television network owned by the University of North Carolina System and licensed to its flagship station WUNC-TV in Chapel Hill. Like other PBS affiliates, it operates in the tradition of noncommercial public media and tilts center-left in its editorial sensibility. Its coverage of the Trump administration has been broadly critical, and it was directly hurt by the administration's successful push to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, resulting in layoffs of 32 employees in fall 2025.
